Fraise et Jabot, the must-have shirt

It was in July 2013 that the brand slipped out of that imaginary world of drawings, sketches and rough outlines to suddenly become real and join the French fashion community.

The style studio

Fraise et Jabot is the work of two people: Anne-Cécile M. > She puts her styling and technical skills at the service of Fraise et Jabot to give it originality and a modern edge. Elodie F. > Creative, technical and commercial all at once, she works mainly on creating or modernising visual identities and communication strategies. Her work is a genuine passion, and joining forces with Fraise et Jabot was inevitable.

A lovely story

The brand introduces its various creations with a lovely story …

This is the story of a girl, like you, like me … 20 years old, full of talk and full of character, but … not only that. She would like to be looked at differently, like those people who seem so sure of themselves. She would like “him” to find her pretty, because she is in love with life. And then she grows up, she learns her trade in economics, at university she meets her friends, then joins one company after another. She discovers the codes … of life. Five years have gone by. She secretly thinks back to that shirt she had sketched one spring evening and had been hunting for in the shops all that time. Miss S., that is what they call her. Today she has created the garment she dreamed of for so long. The piece that makes her beautiful, feminine, joyful, happy, in love … Because she often says: “FRAISE ET JABOT dresses me, I am who I am and it works for me.”

Manufacturing

Inside Fraise et Jabot there is Cosmo, as in Cosmopolitan, with a subtle blend of France, Italy and Bulgaria. Think of it as a “Made in the European Union” label.

Every shirt is made from an Italian fabric that comes from the Venice region. The cloth used to make the shirts is a cotton poplin, a noble raw material often used for men’s shirting. It is also a supple, faintly silky fabric. As for the buttons, the lace and the other trimmings, Fraise et Jabot sources them in France. Fraise et Jabot products are thought up, designed and developed in a Paris studio on the Left Bank. The shirts are then cut, assembled and made up in the Sofia region of Bulgaria (European Union).

The brand’s influences

It is while travelling that the designer draws her inspiration. Miss S. wants the shirts she has imagined to slip into French women’s wardrobes and keep them company day after day. One day, one night, one evening, one life …

“Only for women” (for women only), this first designer line sets out to be current, elegant and surprising…

Take a generous dose of refined curves, for a subtle, feminine style. Add a masculine line, careful design and considered cuts. Sprinkle the whole thing with a sophisticated, original, offbeat touch. What you get is a chic, modern, daring piece.
