How can you help your customers find the right size in store during the health crisis?

Some good news to end the year: “non-essential” shops have been allowed to reopen their doors since Saturday 28 November 2020. With France still under lockdown and health measures being tightened further, the in-store customer experience is a limited one. Retailers are therefore having to adopt new customer journeys in order to meet their shoppers’ needs.

How can you help your customers find the right size in store during the health crisis?

A solid recovery despite strict measures

When they reopened, fashion stores won back some of their customers, especially in the larger cities. A positive upturn that comes at a crucial point in the retail calendar. Between the arrival of Black Friday, Christmas shopping and the winter sales, the sector’s revenue held up fairly well compared with 2019, over the same given period.

However, the health measures put in place since the beginning of this Covid-19 crisis are preventing retailers from letting customers make the most of their in-store experience. Entry limited to small groups, fitting rooms out of bounds, one-way routes through the shop, returned items put into storage to avoid any risk of contamination… Plenty of obstacles that frustrate shoppers.

Making in-store digital part of shopping habits

To make buying clothes on the spot easier, fashion brands started by rolling out more services such as Click & Collect. But to go further still with alternatives to the health restrictions, some retailers such as Promod, A.P.C and Celio are offering customers our mobile app in store.

With fitting rooms still closed to the public, our mobile app makes it possible to find the right clothing size without having to try the garment on. In a matter of seconds, customers know which size to take: they scan the product label, enter their height, weight and age, and get their recommendation. A good way to guide them in their choice of size and to make their customer experience easier in store.
